Indigent Healthcare Solutions (IHS) demonstrated an integrated document imaging system for representatives of the Montgomery County Hospital District (MCHD). This system was designed at the request of MCHD to enable intake workers to scan documents related to an applicant’s eligibility. Documents such as the State Form 101, copies of bills, and driver’s licenses are scanned during the intake interview, and the images are stored seamlessly within the IHS system for instant retrieval by all MCHD staff. According to MCHD indigent health care director Kelly Curry, the IHS system will increase efficiency and greatly reduce the cost of offsite records storage. IHS Director of Software Development Brad Sibley said the imaging system is scheduled to go live June 1, 2005.
